Get That Oil Change – If you are storing for longer than 30 days, we recommend a fresh oil change.  Your engine oil chamber can have moisture infiltrate and water down your engine oil; generally, this moisture evaporates when you are driving.  Long-term parking can lead to water-contaminated oil which in turn can damage your engine.

Top Up Your Gas Tank – Much like with the engine oil, moisture can also build up in your gas tank.  Topping it up ensures there isn’t moisture building up and drying out seals.  Adding a recommended brand of fuel stabilizer can protect the engine from gumming up or drying out.

Swap Out Your Battery – Cars tend to leech their battery even when they are sitting for long periods.  When you drive, the alternator recharges the battery on the go.  If you haven’t changed your battery in a long time doing it before parking for a while is recommended.

Keep It Covered & Protected – Even if you’re parking inside the garage, purchasing a quality car cover can benefit you.  It can protect your McLaren‘s paint job from dust and dirt that can be abrasive to the exterior.  Giving your vehicle a good wash and wax before storage will also protect your paint.
